WEST DES MOINES, IA (09/17/2025) Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences has named Robert Good DO MACOI, to its Board of Trustees. A 1977 graduate of DMU's College of Osteopathic Medicine, Good adds decades of experience in internal medicine and a strong record of leadership in health care and medical education to the board.

"Dr. Good's deep understanding of osteopathic medicine and his passion for developing the next generation of health professionals make him an outstanding addition to our board," says Angela L Walker Franklin PhD, DMU president and CEO. "As an alumnus and a philanthropic partner, his insight and vision will help guide DMU's continued growth and mission-driven impact."

Throughout his career, Good has held numerous clinical, academic and executive leadership roles. He is a Master Fellow in Internal Medicine and a past president of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. His leadership roles have included serving as chief medical officer of medical management for the Carle Health System and the Health Alliance Medical Plans and as clinical professor at Carle Illinois College of Medicine. He currently practices part time in internal medicine at Carle Health in Mattoon, Illinois.

Good and his wife, Brenda, are longtime philanthropic supporters of DMU. In 2025, they endowed the Dr Robert and Brenda Good Faculty Development Academy, which advances teaching excellence, educational research, and leadership among faculty. They also supported the Robert and Brenda Good Active Learning Practice Laboratory through a gift to the university's record-setting Purple and Proud campaign, which raised $57.1 million.

Good is also a past president of the DMU Alumni Board of Directors and continues to be an active supporter and ambassador of the university.

Individuals are elected to three-year terms on the DMU board and may be considered for reappointment.
