DES MOINES, IOWA (June 15, 2026) — Julie Rice LMHC joined Des Moines University Clinic — Behavioral Health as a licensed therapist. She will provide individual and group therapy to clients ages eighteen and up. Her experience includes helping people in outpatient mental-health settings, using a range of approaches to teach coping skills and support change — such as talk therapy, problem-solving strategies, and techniques to manage thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.

"Julie is an experienced therapist with a strong background in individual and group psychotherapy and will help us reach more patients in our clinic and community," says Autumn Brunia DO, a psychiatrist, faculty member, and alumna of Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences.

"She will be a great addition to our team supporting psychotherapy education, giving trainees and rotating students meaningful interprofessional learning experiences."

Rice earned her Master of Science in clinical mental-health counseling at Drake University and holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Iowa State University. She previously practiced at 515 Therapy and Consulting and Broadlawns Medical Center.

DMU Clinic — Behavioral Health provides trauma-informed care for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and mood disorders. New therapy clients are welcome; please call 515-271-1716 to schedule.
