Colorful India Day with the Kalanjali Dance Academy Monday, March 12 Performances at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm Activities 11:15 am – 1:00 pm

India’s Festival of Color is in March and we’re celebrating with beautiful dance performances and colorful activities!  Watch a traditional Indian dance performance by the Kalanjali dancers, learn some steps, and take part in the dance too!  In between performances, help us add color to a giant mandala and get a henna tattoo!

Robot Day Tuesday, March 13 Robotics Demos: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Doodle Bots: 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Check out real robots in action with Riverdale Heights Robotics, UBett Robotics, and QC Elite Robotics! Then, spend the afternoon crafting your very own Doodle Bot that will draw doodles just for you!

Pi Day and Albert Einstein’s Birthday Wednesday, March 14 Mad Science Show: 10:00 am Pi Fight: 3:14 pm

Enjoy a science show in the morning with Mr. Glenn as Albert Einstein, then grab a rain poncho and a pie and throw it at a friend! Get ready to get messy and celebrate Pi Day!

Chris McBrien: The Magic Storyteller Thursday, March 15 11:00 am

Don’t miss this fast-paced show full of hysterical comedy for the whole family! Chris McBrien, The Magic Storyteller, has been performing for over 12 years to an estimated 1 million kids and family members in 10 states as well as the UK, Germany and Canada! An acclaimed ventriloquist, comedian, magician and storyteller will wow you with his family friendly hilarious comedy, amazing illusions, ventriloquist characters and lots of audience participation for all ages!

Giant Earth Balloon Friday, March 16 Shows at 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 Explore Science Stations 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

At 19 feet tall, the Earth Balloon will fill the Great Hall!  Step inside this huge balloon for a special show that will explore our amazing planet.  Throughout the day, visit the Explore Science: Earth and Space hands-on activity stations to learn about mountains, craters, and more!

Koo Koo Kanga Roo Saturday, March 17 2:00 pm

Fasten your fanny packs and catch Koo Koo Kanga Roo’s special St. Patrick’s Day performance! Koo Koo Kanga Roo is the dance-a-long comedy show from Bryan and Neil, two friends who set out to experiment with live music and make it more fun. Armed with nothing more than an iPod, two mics, one giant rainbow and some gold sneakers, Koo Koo Kanga Roo puts on an all-ages dance party that invites everyone to join in.

Niabi Zoo2U Monday, March 19 Shows at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm

Get “Wild About Animals” with this show that brings the zoo right to the Family Museum! This program is perfect for little ones to get an up-close experience with critters from all over the world!

Sink or Float? Wednesday, March 21 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Float on over to the Family Museum for a day boat-building fun!  Join our Rain Gutter Regatta and make the perfect sail so your boat can glide down the gutter and see what it take to make a tin boat float!

PAW Patrol on the Scene! Thursday, March 22 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Meet police and firefighters 10:00 am – 2:00 pm: Make your own PAW Patrol badge 1:15 – 2:00 pm: Meet Chase from PAW Patrol

Build and Drop with the U.S. Army Picatinny STEM Team Friday, March 23 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Whether bringing soldiers and supplies to the battlefield or delivering humanitarian aid to those in need, the Army must safely and accurately deliver. The Build and Drop activity provides the experience of this challenge. Build a carrier for a toy soldier and try to land it safely on target. Didn't make it the first time? Modify the carrier, the parachute, or the drop spot from the second floor of the museum. This fun activity encourages kids to think about basic principles in physics, and gives some exposure to the design and problem solving experiences common throughout STEM fields.

Family Luau with Aloha Chicago Saturday, March 24 11:00 am

If you’ve dreamed of sailing away with Moana, you’ll love this interactive family luau that will feature dances from the Polynesian Islands!  Aloha Chicago’s hula dancers and drummer will get the audience in the island spirit with exciting music, hula lessons, and dazzling costume changes!  Be sure to stick around after the show to have your photo taken with the hula dancers!
