DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 13, 2026) — Davenport Parks and Recreation invites the community to celebrate spooky season at Haunted Island on Saturday, October 24, at Credit Island Park, located at 2200 West River Drive. Admission is free, with donations encouraged to support Scott County Special Olympics and Davenport Parks and Recreation’s scholarship programming.

Haunted Island offers a full day of festive frights and fun for all ages. The festivities kick off with a free, family-friendly Halloween Bash during the day, followed by a spooky movie under the stars in the evening.

Event details:

Not-So-Scary Halloween Bash | 12-5PM

Join our friends from Davenport Junior Theatre for a frightfully fantastic afternoon of Halloween fun along the Mississippi River. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costume and enjoy activities like a candy maze, games, haunted house, petting zoo, bounce houses, and more.

Scary Movie in the Park | 6-10PM

As the sun sets, the real scares begin. Davenport Parks and Recreation will host Scary Movie in the Park, recommended for ages thirteen and older. After five weeks of community voting in the department’s October Madness Movie Bracket on social media, the winner is the original Halloween (1978 rated R), starring Jamie Lee Curtis. In addition to the movie, attendees can also expect to enjoy playing yard games and food trucks.

In case of rain, cancellations will be announced by 3PM on the day of the event.
