DES MOINES, IOWA (April 16, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate will present National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Medallion Awards on Wednesday to the directors of the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Office of the Chief Information Officer, and the Iowa National Guard for their assistance with Iowa’s voter-registration and election-cybersecurity efforts.

Sec Pate will also provide an update on the status of Iowa’s election cybersecurity.

The ceremony will take place inside Sec Pate’s State Capitol office.

DETAILS:

Who: Sec Paul Pate, Iowa Department of Transportation Director Mark Lowe, Office of the Chief Information Officer Director Jeff Franklin, and Iowa National Guard Maj General Timothy Orr (who is retiring on May 1).

What: Presentation of NASS Medallion Awards for their assistance with Iowa’s elections and an update on Iowa’s election cybersecurity.

When: 12PM on Wednesday, April 17
