DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 31, 2025) — An upcoming night of music, poetry and comedy will help raise funds and awareness for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Greater Mississippi Valley mental-health education and support programs. The latest Life is Beautiful concert will be Saturday, November 22, at the Raccoon Motel, 315 E 2nd St, Davenport. Doors open at 6 PM.

Local comedian Tori House will host the event, which includes comedy from local improv group Bubble Pig. Life is Beautiful features performances from area bands Dynoride, Camp Regret, Heet Deth, and Bloodeater, plus poetry from Aubs (poet and educator Aubrey Barnes) and special music from violinist Gwen Lee.

Admission is a suggested $10 donation at the door; proceeds will be donated to NAMI.

This year’s Life is Beautiful concert marks the twentieth anniversary of Birth Control Productions, founded in 2005 by Joe Lee and William Martin, who struggled with mental-health issues and tragically took his life in 2017.

One-of-a-kind concert T-shirts designed by local artist Jon Burns may be pre-ordered online until November 25 at https://www.gnarcityclothing.com/products/life-is-beautiful?utm_source=copyToPasteBoard&utm_medium=product-links&utm_content=web.

Concert T-shirts are $25, with $10 from each purchase going to NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley.
