WAVERLY, IOWA (May 7, 2021) — Rachel Green, of DeWitt, Iowa, was one of 17 Wartburg College students honored by the Iowa Broadcast News Association at its annual conference.

Green earned third place in In-Depth/Series for Student TV for "Student Elections."

Wartburg College's Knight Vision also won third place in Overall Excellence for Student TV from the Iowa Broadcast News Association.

The contest recognizes outstanding radio and TV entries across the state for entries broadcast in 2020 during the organization's annual conference.

Faculty advisers for Wartburg media outlets are professors Pamela Ohrt (KWAR) and Ronald Johnson (Knight Vision). Penni Pier is chair of the Wartburg Department of Journalism and Communication.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal-arts college internationally-recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,564 students. Wartburg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and named after the castle in Germany where Martin Luther took refuge disguised as a knight during the stormy days of the Reformation while translating the Bible from Greek into German.
