Series of workshops for veterans to coincide with July 4 holiday

WASHINGTON DC (June 28, 2019) — Representative Dave Loebsack announced that he will be hosting a series of workshops for veterans and their families across Iowa’s Second District on his “Serving Those Who Served” tour. The workshops, which will be held around the district, will give veterans and their families an opportunity to seek assistance if they are having issues with the Veterans Administration (VA), or any Federal agency, and share their thoughts on issues affecting veterans. At each stop, Rep Loebsack and his staff will be joined by representatives from local Veteran Service Organizations, County Veterans Affairs Officers, and other groups.

"Each year, Iowans come together around the 4th of July to celebrate the founding of our nation," Rep Loebsack said. "During this time, we must also take time to remember the men and women who have fought for the freedoms we cherish. As a parent of children serving in the military, I strongly believe we must serve those who have worn our nation’s uniform with the same honor and dedication with which they have served. As a nation, we have no greater responsibility than to ensure our servicemembers have the support, equipment, and training they need to safely carry out their mission and that we care for our veterans when they return home. I look forward to providing any assistance my office can offer and meeting with veterans and their families to discuss issues important to them."

Workshops will be held throughout Iowa’s Second District. This is the eighth year Loebsack has hosted workshops specifically for veterans around the July 4 holiday. Veterans, their families, and the media are invited to attend.
