WASHINGTON DC (March 12, 2019) — Representative Dave Loebsack released the following statement today after Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler signed the proposed E15 rule, taking the next step toward making E15 available year-round. In October, President Trump had pledged to end the embargo on sales of E15 during the summer months.

“I thank Administrator Wheeler for finally taking this step to expand consumer choice at the gas pump by allowing the year-round sale of E15. I encourage all interested Iowans to share their thoughts with the EPA during this comment period that ends next month. Beyond expanding consumer choice, this rule will help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil and stimulate economic development and create jobs throughout rural communities. I will continue to work to ensure the administration keeps its promise of having E15 available during the upcoming summer driving season.”
