WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (May 24, 2019) — The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation is offering up to 20 $1,500 scholarships to individuals who are continuing their education in nursing, physical/occupational therapy (PT/OT), or health administration with the intent of working in long-term care. Scholarship applications are due by May 31. "There is no career more rewarding than a career in long-term care. It allows you the opportunity to make a deep and meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are pleased to help support those who have made the commitment to serve others in this profession by offering these scholarships for their health-care education," said Cindy Baddeloo, senior vice president and chief operating officer at IHCA. Scholarship Criteria Scholarship applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- At the time of application and at the time scholarships are awarded, the applicant must work for an IHCA, Iowa Center for Assisted Living or Iowa Center for Home Care-member nursing-facility, assisted-living program, residential-care facility, home-health agency, home-care provider, or independent senior-living community.
- The applicant must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited school of nursing, long-term care, or health-care administration program or PT/OT degree or PT/OT assistant program.
- Scholarships are for the 2019-2020 academic year; therefore, the applicant must be taking classes during the fall 2019 and/or spring 2020 semesters.
