DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 6, 2021) — Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins reminds voters that changes have been made to Iowa election laws which affect voter registration and absentee balloting for the November 2 city and school elections. Pre-register to Vote Deadline
The deadline to pre-register to vote is Monday, October 18, 2021, 5PM. It is easy to update your record online at the Iowa DOT or forms are available at the Auditor’s webpage.

Absentee Ballot Request Deadline
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, October 18, 2021, 5PM. Request forms are available for download from the Auditor’s webpage or the Auditor’s Office will mail forms to voters upon request. Another important change is that voters must date the request forms for acceptance. The request form is below:
Absentee Ballot Return Deadline
The deadline for returning absentee ballots is November 2, 2021, 8PM. Ballots may be returned by mail, or hand-delivered to the Auditor’s Office by the voter, a household member, an immediate family member, or a delivery agent.
Absentee Ballot Drop-Box Available
A drop-box is available for voters to return their ballots. It is located at the Scott County Admin Center on the west side of the parking lot. It will be available starting October 13 through Election Day, November 2, 8PM.
In-Person Early Voting
In-person voting at the Auditor’s Office begins on October 13, 2021, and is available Monday–Friday, 8AM-4:30PM, and 8AM-5PM, on Monday, November 1, 2021.
