MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 25, 2026) — It was a dark and stormy night. . . well, it could have been in The Adventures of Sam Steele, a new radio play by Jeff Adamson taking the stage at The Black Box Theatre, opening March 28 and running through April 4.

Set in 1947, after the war, Sam Steele PI is on the case with plenty of heavies and femmes fatale while he investigates a murder in McClellan Heights.

Can’t say anymore or I’d have to kill you.

The show is filled with tropes of the 30’s and 40’s and is just plain fun.

The cast includes Jeff Adamson, Jess Nicol White, Patrick Adamson, and Jeremy Mahr, with set and costume design by Lora Adams and lighting by Alexander Richardson.

The premiere of The Adventures of Sam Steele kicks of The Black Box Theatre’s tenth season. Tickets are $18 and available at the door or at theblackboxtheatre.com

Be there. . . or else.
