DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 24, 2026) — St Ambrose University will welcome one of the Catholic Church’s most influential contemporary voices, Cardinal Timothy Peter Joseph OP, as keynote speaker for its upcoming international conference, “From A(mbrose) to (Gen.) Z: Resourcing the Tradition in Response to Contemporary Concerns in the Church,” April 24–26, 2026.

A globally-respected theologian, former Master of the Dominican Order, and leading contributor to conversations shaping the future of the Church, Cardinal Radcliffe will anchor the conference with a keynote address focused on renewal, dialogue, and the Church’s role in addressing today’s most pressing challenges.

Registration is now open, with free admission available for students. Space is limited, and early registration is strongly encouraged.

“Hosting Cardinal Radcliffe is a tremendous opportunity for our community,” said Amy Novak EdD, President and CEO of St Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University.

“His voice has helped guide global conversations around faith, belonging, and renewal. This conference invites all of us to engage those same questions with openness, hope, and purpose.”

Presented by The Academy for the Study of St Ambrose of Milan (ASSAM), the conference will bring together scholars, clergy, students, and members of the public for three days of dialogue and engagement rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.

Participants will explore topics including ecological care, inclusion, leadership, and the vitality of faith among younger generations - anchored by Cardinal Radcliffe’s keynote and a series of panels, presentations, and discussions led by experts from around the world.

“This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a global leader in the Church at a time when thoughtful dialogue and listening are more important than ever,” said Ethan Gannaway PhD, co-director of ASSAM.

The conference is open to all. Cost is $20. Students are especially encouraged to attend at no cost, as well as clergy and religious members. There is also a 50% discount for church groups.

A closing liturgy will conclude the event, inviting participants to return to their communities renewed in hope and inspired by St Ambrose’s legacy.
