Three proven models offered to mathematics educators statewide

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council will begin accepting applications today for the STEM Scale-Up Program mathematics menu. An additional investment was made during the legislative session specifically to scale mathematics education programs proven to increase interest and achievement among K-12 students across Iowa. K-12 schools, afterschool programs, and other educational organizations are encouraged to apply for the programs to be implemented during a seven-month period of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Three STEM Scale-Up Programs were selected after completing a rigorous review process, including:

  • Bootstrap: Data Science
  • Desmos Middle School Math
  • Differentiated Math Centers

The application period for the STEM Scale-Up Program mathematics menu closes on October 1, 2019 and award recipients will be announced in November. Training for each of the programs will be held after awardees are notified.
