What: Thirty-five African American men will walk side-by-side with African-American boys — the leaders of tomorrow — at the annual Well-Suited Tuxedo event committed to the growth and development of the next generation.

The men come donning their best suits and tuxedos and spend the afternoon teaching the young boys how to prepare to live their best lives. The youth learn grooming techniques, how to tie a tie, important manners and even dress up in a tuxedo of their own. The special event is designed to instill positivity, pride and purpose in African American boys.

The men and boys participate in a community walk starting at Beyond the Baseline, 1540 West 12th Street in Davenport, and continuing along 12th Street to the Putnam Museum amd Science Center to proudly show off their tuxedos. Members of the community are welcome to line the streets to support the boys.

Following the community walk, keynote speaker Skubie Mageza of KWQC will share his own personal story of overcoming obstacles to achieve success.
