FAYETTE, IOWA (April 24, 2024) — Upper Iowa University (UIU) is proud to announce Dr Celina Peerman will deliver the keynote address during the University's 2024 commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 4. Dr Peerman is UIU alumna with a Master's degree in Business Leadership, a PhD in Psychology, with undergraduate degrees in psychology and international studies.

Dr Peerman's has over three decades of experience in organizational psychology. Her extensive career spans various industries and organizations, including eighteen years at UIU, where she served in a variety of roles. Her dedication to enhancing organizational results through innovative engagement of human resources is well recognized. Dr Peerman is passionate about engaging our human resources in new ways to achieve even better organizational results and is a strategist with a sense of humor and a love for building capacity in organizations.

A seasoned presenter, Dr Peerman has shared her insights at countless conferences across the local, state, and national levels. Her international work in Asia, Canada, and Central and South America has further broadened her perspective, deepening her commitment to fostering conversations that challenge, explore, and pursue opportunities for performance improvement. A two-time TEDx presenter, podcaster, and writer, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to influence and inspire. Her commitment to professional excellence is further underscored by the Certified Speaking Professional designation, a prestigious recognition awarded to a select few by the National Speakers Association.

Approximately 350 UIU students from all UIU locations will be recognized for earning their degrees during the commencement ceremonies at Harms-Eischeid Stadium in Fayette, Iowa. Graduates and undergraduates from the Department of Accounting, Agricultural Business and Finance, Department of Business and Health Services Administration, Department of Management and Marketing, Master of Business Administration, Master of Healthcare Administration, Master of Sport Administration, and Department of Nursing will be celebrated at the 10AM ceremony.

Graduates and undergraduates from the Andres Department of Education, Department of Humanities and Social Science, Department of Psychology and Human Services, Department of Science and Mathematics, Master of Education, Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Counseling, and Second Chance Graduates and Undergraduates will be celebrated at the 1:30PM ceremony.

In the event of inclement weather, an announcement will be posted on the UIU homepage that the ceremonies have been moved to Dorman Gymnasium at Fayette Campus. All seating is on a first-come basis. An overflow viewing area will be located in the Student Center ballrooms. Guests at this location can view the full ceremonies on live video.
