Wild Turkeys

Wild turkeys are native to North America and reside in every state except Alaska. Benjamin Franklin had actually wanted the turkey, and not the bald eagle, to be the symbol of the USA.

We’ll discuss a turkey’s lifestyle and make a craft worth hanging up at Thanksgiving, share story time and gobble up a snack, too.

KinderNature is for kids 3-5 and is held the first Tuesday of each month.

Volunteer Spotlight: Dale

Dale's a train guy. In fact, he's our train guy and we are so grateful for all of the contributions he makes in our Train Garden and anywhere we need his help. Dale is what we call a volunteer veteran, having dedicated hundreds of hours to the Botanical Center since 2013.

Beyond the train, you can see Dale's meticulous work in Pat's Garden where he built the fence that has been painted with fairy wings.

Dale also donates many hours hanging lights for our Winter Nights Winter Lights exhibit.

It's safe to say our gardens would not be as whimsical and wonderful without his generous gifts of time and talent. Thank you, Dale!
