ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 11, 2026) — The YWCA Quad Cities (513 17th St, Rock Island) invites the community to kick off summer at its Summer Block Jam, a free, family-friendly event designed to celebrate connection, community, and the start of the summer season.

The Summer Block Jam will take place on Sunday, June 14, 1–4PM. We will have the street closed on 17th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Guests of all ages are welcome to attend and enjoy an afternoon filled with food, entertainment, and interactive activities.

The event will feature a wide range of activities, including delicious food, a bounce house and obstacle course, a petting zoo, games, and community giveaways, all at no cost to the community.

One of the highlights of the event will be a dunk tank featuring local community favorites, including Rock Island Mayor Ashley Harris, YWCA staff, and Rock Island educators.

Mayor Harris will be in the dunk tank 1–1:30PM.

Families can also take advantage of a car seat safety check station provided by the Rock Island County Regional Office of Education, offering an important safety resource for caregivers and parents.

The Summer Block Jam is free and open to the public.
