WASHINGTON DC (December 4, 2019) — At the direction of President Donald J Trump, US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced a final rule to move more able-bodied recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) towards self-sufficiency and into employment. The rule restores the system to what Congress intended: assistance through difficult times, not a way of life.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 3, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed Executive Order 5 (EO5) requiring all new contracts for the purchase of state vehicles with diesel engines to have written support from the manufacturer to use B20 biodiesel (a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum-based diesel) or more. Gov Reynolds signed the executive order at the Iowa Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting in Des Moines.

As negotiations continue, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget urges lawmakers to enact clean appropriations bills rather than coupling a year-end funding bill with debt-financed tax+cuts and spending increases.

In early November, French president Emmanuel Macron complained that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization  (NATO) is experiencing "brain death" as its member states go their own ways, with "no coordination whatsoever of strategic decision-making."
