CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (October 24, 2019) — Landmarks Illinois has awarded $15,000 in grant-funding to preservation projects in five Illinois communities through its Preservation Heritage Fund Grant Program. Individual grants range from $2,500 to $5,000 each and will be used toward restoring historic places in the following Illinois communities: Atlanta, Princeton, Rochelle, Rushville, and Wilmington.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (October 24, 2019) — Courage Ride, a bicycle ride that raises funds for sarcoma-cancer research, presented a check for $100,000 to the University of Iowa’s Sarcoma Research Program during an October 23 ceremony at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. WASHINGTON DC (October 24, 2019) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley is asking for details on individuals who have committed serious human-rights violations and then fraudulently sought refuge in the United States. Today, Sen Grassley sent a letter to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Acting Director Matthew Albence seeking information on Operation No Safe Haven V, an operation that targeted human-rights violators who were able to enter the United States despite their past crimes.
