Upper Iowa University Peacock Baseball Players Find Themselves in the NFL amongst Bears

FAYETTE, IOWA (September 19, 2019) — From the moment they first stepped through the office doors of the Chicago Bears, Upper Iowa University (UIU) alumnus Dom Hillesheim ('18), and UIU seniors Jack Thode and Joshua Buresh realized they were moving from one extended family into another. Like their experience at UIU's Fayette Campus, the former Peacock baseball teammates found themselves surrounded by caring people who inspire others to achieve their career and lifetime goals.

The US Navy's Attitude About Releasing UFO Videos is More Disturbing Than the UFO Videos

The US Navy confirms that three online videos showing two military air-encounters with what it calls "unexplained aerial phenomena," and the rest of us call "unidentified flying objects," are authentic, Popular Mechanics reports. The videos are interesting, and some might find them disturbing. What's more disturbing to me is that the Navy thinks they're none of our business 15, or even four, years later (the incidents occurred in 2004 and 2015).

Illinois Farm Sweeps Iowa State Fair Oxford Down Sheep Show

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 18, 2019) — Rocky Hill Farm of Elizabeth, Illinois (IL), took top honors in the Oxford Down Sheep show judged at the 2019 Iowa State Fair. The farm was awarded the Champion and Reserve Champion Ewe and Reserve Champion Ram banners. They also placed first in the Premier Exhibitor contest.

Lillibridge Oxfords of Plainfield earned Champion Ram honors and took third place in the Premier Exhibitor contest while Bode Niemeier of Butler, IL, took second.

Top Sheep Chosen at Iowa State Fair Shropshire Show

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 18, 2019) — Rueber Shropshires of Marshalltown claimed Champion and Reserve Ewe, Champion Ram, and first-place Premier Exhibitor honors in the Shropshire Sheep show judged at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

SS Shrops of Davenport took home the Reserve Champion Ram and second-place Premier Exhibitor.

Sugar Ridge Ranch of Viroqua, Wisconsin (WI), won third place Premier Exhibitor.

Southdown Farms Compete in Iowa State Fair Sheep Show

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 18, 2019) — Willwerth Southdowns of Eagle Grove won Champion Ewe, Reserve Champion Ram, and first-place Premier Exhibitor honors in the Southdown Sheep Show judged at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

Lee Donald Olson of New Virginia received Champion Ram honors, along with third-place Premier Exhibitor honors.

Held Brothers Southdowns of Aurora, South Dakota (SD), took Reserve Champion Ewe and second-place Premier Exhibitor.
