DES MOINES – Today, Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Secretary Andrew Wheeler outlining the damaging effects of the 31 new small refinery waivers (SRE’s) undermining the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Gov Reynolds and Sec Naig also extended an invitation to Sec Wheeler to come to Iowa and see the devastating impact of these exemptions firsthand.

DES MOINES – Today, Iowa Workforce Development announced that four local areas will receive the National Dislocated Worker Grant to assist 173 dislocated workers impacted by the flooding across Iowa in Spring 2019. The U.S. Department of Labor awards the grant to fund employment and training assistance as directed by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 21, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits closed out a winning homestand with an impressive 9-3 victory over the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Tuesday night at Modern Woodmen Park. DES MOINES, IOWA (August 20, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds has selected Major General Benjamin J Corell as the new Adjutant General for the Iowa National Guard. Corell recently returned from a deployment to Kuwait where he commanded the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bulls” in support of Operation Spartan Shield. This was Corell’s sixth deployment overseas since September 2000.

DES MOINES, IA (August 19, 2019) — Sheep breeders brought their best animals to the Columbia Sheep show, judged Friday, at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

Isaiah Buck of New York Mills, MN exhibited the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Ewe, as well as the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Ram.

Premier Breeder and Exhibitor also went to Isaiah Buck. Thiesen Family Columbias of Alden were second in both, with Macoy Thiesen of Sauk Centre, MN being third.
