WASHINGTON DC (June 25, 2019) — Representative Dave Loebsack announced that he will be hosting a series of workshops for veterans and their families across Iowa’s Second District on his “Serving Those Who Served” tour. The workshops, which will be held around the district, will give veterans and their families an opportunity to seek assistance if they are having issues with the Veterans Administration (VA), or any Federal agency, and share their thoughts on issues affecting veterans.

QUAD-CITIES — Xstream Cleanup, in response to record flooding,  is seeking volunteers for a one-day, region-wide flood cleanup on Saturday, June 29, 8-11AM. Xstream Cleanup volunteers have identified six areas in our region where volunteers can assist in the recovery from the recent flooding.

Multiple cleanup sites are located in Buffalo and Davenport, Iowa; and Hampton and Moline, Illinois.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 24, 2019) — Iowa is getting some much-needed updates to our state’s criminal penalties.

A bipartisan Criminal Justice Reform bill, SF589, passed the Legislature unanimously this year, and was signed into law by [Governor Kim Reynolds] on May 16. The bill goes into effect on July 1.
