CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (May 13, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits had their nine-game winning-streak snapped by the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Monday night, suffering a 9-4 defeat in the first game of a double-header. However, the Bandits rebounded with a 7-0 win in the night cap to gain a split of the twin bill.

AMES, IOWA (May 13, 2019) — Carly Grimm, an Iowa State University apparel, merchandising, and design major from Bettendorf, took first place in the Best of Show Consulting Project for an Existing Business category at the College of Human Sciences 2019 Entrepreneurship Showcase, May 3 in LeBaron Hall on the ISU campus.

Grimm's consulting group focused on enhancing Beek Street Antiques and Collectibles' brand and financial performance.

Washington DC (May 13, 2019) — Representative Dave Loebsack announced today that he has been named to serve as a member of the new House Task Force on Rural Broadband, which will be chaired by House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. The Task Force seeks to provide coordination and leadership to end the rural-digital divide and will work to advance solutions to ensure all Americans have access to high-speed internet by 2025.
