WASHINGTON DC (April 22, 2019) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa today issued the following statement regarding the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees’ annual reports.

On April 18, US Attorney William Barr released Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the probe into "Russian meddling" in the 2016 presidential election. The report cleared President Donald Trump and his campaign team of allegations that they conspired with the Russian government in that meddling. But on the question of "obstruction of justice," Mueller punted in an eerily-familiar way.

Cyclone Aides, a program coordinated by Iowa State University's Office of New Student Programs, are undergraduate student-leaders employed to assist with Orientation and Destination Iowa State throughout the year.

WASHINGTON DC (April 22, 2019) — The Social Security and Medicare Trustees released their annual reports today, showing the Medicare Part A trust fund will be insolvent in seven years, the Social Security retirement fund in 15 years, and the theoretical combined Social Security retirement and disability trust-funds in 16 years. Medicare Part B and D are also projected to continue growing faster than the economy. All these programs face large and growing shortfalls.
