INDIANOLA, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — Looking for new works from across America, Theatre Simpson chose to hold a playwriting-contest on the topic of interfaith and religious diversity. After reading and discussing 80 different submissions, the senior class chose four plays to help best showcase their talents for their senior capstone. Theatre Simpson is proud to produce these new and unique plays about interfaith and religious diversity for their Festival of Short Plays 2019.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs will host the 11th Annual Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Dan Gannon, Chair of the Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs, will officiate. Governor Kim Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg will give remarks followed by Keynote Speaker Ambassador Kenneth M Quinn, President of the World Food Prize Foundation and former career US Foreign Service Officer.

Every year, I hold at least one meeting in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. Many of these meetings are at schools, and the number-one concern among students is student-loan debt. They have every reason to be worried.
