ECC 2017-2018 Fall-Spring Graduates Announced

Des Moines -- Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller, as part of a bipartisan group of 52 state and territory attorneys general, called on Congress today to help end the opioid epidemic and close a loophole that allows those who traffic deadly fentanyl to stay a step ahead of law enforcement.

Lauren Schroeder, a senior at Rivermont Collegiate, was born with only 20% blood supply and had to be given blood to survive. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Chronic Anemia and Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome. She will require blood to managing these diseases for the rest of her life.

More than 800 graduates receive degrees at the end of Iowa State's 2018 summer term

AMES, Iowa (August 21, 2018) - Iowa State University awarded a total of 843 degrees at the end of the 2018 summer term. Of the students receiving degrees, 481 were awarded bachelor's degrees, 226 received master's degrees and 136 received doctor of philosophy degrees.

Coalition of states and local governments oppose EPA’s new pollution rules

DES MOINES -- Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller released the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s proposed plan to dismantle the Clean Power Plan, the first-ever national limits on climate change emissions from existing fossil-fuel power plants:

WASHINGTON – Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Dianne Feinstein of California, Orrin Hatch of Utah, Rob Portman of Ohio and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota introduced the bipartisan Missing Children’s Assistance Act of 2018. The bill would reauthorize the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and continue the fight against child abduction and exploitation.
