Coalition of states and local governments oppose EPA’s new pollution rules

DES MOINES -- Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller released the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s proposed plan to dismantle the Clean Power Plan, the first-ever national limits on climate change emissions from existing fossil-fuel power plants:

WASHINGTON – Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Dianne Feinstein of California, Orrin Hatch of Utah, Rob Portman of Ohio and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota introduced the bipartisan Missing Children’s Assistance Act of 2018. The bill would reauthorize the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and continue the fight against child abduction and exploitation.

New data shows more AmeriCorps members come from Davenport than other mid-sized cities 

Davenport, IA —When it comes to enrolling in AmeriCorps, Davenport residents rank fifth among mid-size cities, according to new data released today by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that administers the AmeriCorps program and leads the nation’s national service and volunteer programs.
