DES MOINES, IOWA (March 28, 2019) — The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) on Monday issued an order approving Alliant Energy's five-year energy efficiency plan with few modifications. The approval of Alliant's plan is the end result of Senate File 2311, legislation passed by the Iowa Legislature in 2018 that severely restricted what the IUB could require utilities to spend on programs to help customers reduce energy usage.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 27, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation of public-health disaster emergency for the state of Iowa as a result of the widespread flooding and flash-flooding that began March 13, 2019, and continues.

In addition to authorizing the Iowa Department of Public Health to take necessary action to protect the public’s health, the proclamation provides for the mobilization of public-health response teams.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (March 27, 2019) — Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF), founded a century ago on the premise of helping rural Iowans weather the challenges of farming, is donating $35,000 for flood-relief efforts to help manage the immediate needs of Missouri River flood-victims. The donation includes $20,000 to the Red Cross and $15,000 to the Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Fund.
