Illinois Central College Announces President's List for Fall 2017

EAST PEORIA, IL (02/19/2018)-- Illinois Central College released the names of students who earned President's List honors during the Fall 2017 semester. The academic honor is presented to students who earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Quad Cities World Cultures Festival 2018

The World Affairs Council of the Quad Cities (WACQC) and Quad Cities Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees (QCAIR) are teaming up with St. Ambrose University’s International Studies program to host this year’s annual World Cultures Festival. We will be celebrating and honoring diversity and promoting cultural awareness through the Quad Cities. There will be a fashion show, cultural educational displays, food, dances, a silent auction, and more.

Patterns & Statistics of ICE Persecution of Iowa Families - Year-end report of Iowa ICE Rapid Response Network

In order to address reports and fear of escalating persecution of immigrant families across the country, a group of volunteers known as La Resistencia created a hotline for reporting activity of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This statewide hotline, a tool for Iowa immigrant families and allies to use to respond to needs created by ICE persecution, was created in February of 2017.

Niabi Zoo launches conservation & science speaker series

COAL VALLEY, Ill. (Feb. 8, 2018) – Niabi Zoo announced today the launch of a new series of lectures on conservation, ecology, biology and zoology. The series will continue throughout the year, and the first three lectures will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 and March 1 at the Niabi Zoo educational center.
