“The Fight for Fair Housing” Discussion Panel at the Davenport Library.

A panel discussion on “The Fight for Fair Housing: the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr” will be held at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) on Thursday, February 15 at 6:00pm. Sponsored by the Davenport Civil Right Commission, the panel will discuss Dr. King, the Chicago Freedom Movement and the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

AG candidate Gary Grasso calls for federal investigation into corruption in Cook County

Springfield, IL – Republican Attorney General candidate Gary Grasso is calling for a federal investigation into the corrupt property tax assessment system in Cook County because local authorities have proven incapable of dealing with the systemic problems in the way taxes are assessed.   Grasso has written a letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions asking for his office to investigate the property tax assessment problems in Cook County.

Perdue Names New Leaders in USDA’s Departmental Administration
