Silent March to Remember

When: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1-2 p.m.

Where: The silent march will begin at the lower entrance to Cosgrove Hall, located next to Ambrose Hall off of West Locust Street. Ambrosians will march four blocks to civil rights marker at the corner of 11th and Ripley Streets in Davenport, near the site of the former Toney’s Barber and Beauty Shop.

Davenport, Iowa - The Quad Cities will come together to run for the gold at the 2018 CASI St. Patrick’s Day Race on Saturday, March 17, 2018 to benefit the Center for Active Seniors, or CASI, as it is known to so many.

In its 36th year, CASI’s St. Patrick’s Day Race is THE major fundraiser for CASI last year raising nearly $80,000 for vital senior services including the senior emergency food pantry, fans for seniors and Jane’s Place Adult Day Services Program.

On January 11, 2018, participants from 20 organizations and the public took part in a discussion on the current state and future of the Hennepin Canal. Issues regarding maintenance of the century old canal and towpaths were discussed among state legislators, nonprofit organizations, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and local city and county officials.
