Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa at half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Thursday, November 9, 2017, to honor those killed and injured in Sunday’s mass shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. This order is in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s order that was issued Sunday.

The Rock Island Arsenal/Government Bridge will be closed beginning 6am, Thursday, November 9th through 6pm, Friday, November 10th for maintenance. This closure will be for the roadway only; pedestrian, rail, and navigation traffic will not be affected by the closure.

Maj. Gen. Richard J. Hayes, the Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard, presided over the ceremony that included nearly 20 military members, as well as Congressman Darin Lahood and State Representative Dan Brady.
