The Machine Shed is featuring a new sweet treat at the Mississippi Valley State Fair this year - Maple Frosted Candied Bacon Donuts. The donuts are drizzled with a maple glaze and bacon pieces. The Machine Shed will be at the fair – located off of West Locust in Davenport. The fair runs from August 1st to the 6th.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Stanley Consultants, a global consulting engineering firm, has recently been awarded several indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - On July 28, 2017, United States District Court Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger sentenced Jeffrey B. Lackas, Stanley Szeto, and Daniel Cruz-Bonilla for conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids, announced United States Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel. Lackas, Szeto, and Cruz-Bonilla were members of a drug trafficking organization responsible for the distribution of anabolic steroids and human-growth hormones throughout the country.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced a new cyber training partnership between the SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security) Institute and the State of Iowa on Monday.

High school juniors, seniors, community college and college students are encouraged to participate in CyberStart, an online game of discovery, and compete against students in six other states for $650,000 in scholarships.

Ministries Supported by Easter Family Fund

Churches United of the Quad City Area ministries has received a most generous $5,000 grant from the Easter Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Funds will be used to support our hunger, shelter and community outreach ministries that include offering financial assistance to people in need.

The Scott County Conservation Board is announcing that the Scott County Park equestrian trails will be closed to the general public Friday, August 4th through Sunday August 6th due to a special event being held for an off-road bike race.
