"As a child who grew up in poverty, my schools didn’t have the resources they needed to provide me with a quality education. Here in Illinois, too many children know this reality. It shouldn’t matter where you live or how much money your parents make – all children deserve access to a world-class education.

While camping pads with water and electrical hookups have already sold out, primitive campsites are still available.

HAMPTON, Ill. (Aug. 29, 2017) – A group of seven tipis will be on display at Illiniwek Forest Preserve Sept. 29 and 30 for a Tipi Gathering designed to provide a glimpse at life of the great plains Native American culture.

The free, educational event will feature music, storytelling, drum circles and dancing. The tipis will also be available for the public to tour.
