ATLANTA, GA (06/06/2017)-- Ashish Tadepalli of Moline (61265) was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, is pressing the Department of Veterans Affairs for accurate information on appointment wait times for Iowa veterans after agency officials appeared to mislead his staff about lengthy waits.  The VA reiterated that no wait times beyond 90 days existed, when a whistleblower produced data to Grassley staff showing that as of March 2017, hundreds of Iowa veterans were waiting between one and two years for an appointment.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (06/06/2017)-- Davenport University has announced that Sandra Wohlford of Eldridge has been named to the President's List for the Winter 2017 Semester. The President's List recognizes top students who excel with outstanding academic performance. To achieve recognition, a student must maintain a minimum 3.8 grade point average while enrolled in at least nine credits of regular coursework.

Bayou Block Party Kicks Off This Saturday!

Saturday, June 10th – Gates open at 4:00 p.m.

Catch the spirit and energy of ‘The Quarter’ in downtown Rock Island for Gumbo Ya Ya. Cajun, Zydeco, and Jazz bands will tantalize your ears, while Cajun spiced food will heat up your taste buds. Bead tosses, confetti, feather masks, feather boas, and showgirls will complete the Mardi Gras theme.

Spring Forward Learning Center’s Golf Scramble will be held on June 24th at Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois (9500 35th St. West).  Registration and lunch from the grill (included) start at 11:00 am with best ball tournament beginning at 1:00 pm. There will be a 50/50 raffle, prizes donated by local Quad Cities businesses, hole contests and more! Tickets are $60 per person and $240 for a team of four.
