(DES MOINES) – Today, Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds announced two appointments to the Iowa Board of Medicine.  These appointments are effective today, are unpaid and are subject to Iowa Senate confirmation.

Ms. Teresa Garman of Ames, IA previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 to 2002, where she served as Chairwoman of the Justice Appropriations Committee.  She replaces Diane Clarke of Lake Mills, IA. 

On Tuesday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m. the Scott County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Patrol Headquarters, located at 3206 South 16th Avenue in Eldridge.

May 10, 2017 - Bettendorf, Iowa – Hannah Laufenberg, a Junior at Rivermont Collegiate in Bettendorf, daughter of Brian and Angela Laufenberg, has been selected  for the prestigious program and will be traveling to Lexington, Kentucky this June.

West Des Moines, Iowa (May 10, 2017) — To assist in the national crisis concerning opioid overdoses, Hy-Vee, Inc., announced today that it now offers naloxone to customers without a prescription in four of the eight states where it has pharmacies.

WASHINGTON, May 10, 2017 – Acting Deputy Under Secretary Roger Glendenning today announced that USDA is providing zero-interest loans to two rural energy providers to help business and residential customers lower energy use and costs.

“Funding commercial, farm and residential energy efficiency investments supports rural economies,” Glendenning said. “These investments save money for consumers, create jobs in the community and help energy providers better manage costs.”
