GRINNELL, Iowa (April 25, 2017) - Grinnell College has a rock star of its own - and you don't have to buy a ticket to see it. Today the college's rock star, better known as the Peace Rock, was lifted out of the ground exactly 103 years after students buried it on April 25, 1914, to protest the end of the annual Class Scrap - a fierce fight that pitted men in the second-year class against men in the first-year class.

Henderson homers twice as Bandits snap two game slide

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The River Bandits scored double-digit runs for the third time in eight days in a 14-4 win over the Peoria Chiefs on Monday night at Modern Woodmen Park. Quad Cities clubbed three home runs and pounded out 12 hits and Ryan Hartman picked up the win in relief.

The 9:00 am race is a partnership among Spring Forward Learning Center, Martin Luther King Center, and Rock Island Public Library summer learning programs. Proceeds support summer reading and enrichment projects at Spring Forward elementary education sites in Rock Island and Milan.
