Iowa State University Scott County Master Gardeners is presenting a “Pollinators’ Palooza” event May 20 & 21 in partnership with the Putnam Museum featuring fun and education for the entire family. Basically it’s free; however there is a charge to view the “Flight of the Butterflies” movie. The event will focus on the bees; butterflies and other insects that help flowering plants produce fruits, vegetables and nuts. Hands-on activities for the kids, plant sale, speakers and lots more.

ROCKFORD - Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti joined Representative Joe Sosnowski, Representative John Cabello, and Goodwill officials at the Northern Illinois Goodwill to highlight the importance of high school diploma attainability for adults, and the benefits an Excel Center would bring to Illinois.

 On Thursday, April 20th Safer staff and volunteers will be out in full force delivering lunches to area businesses and organizations. It’s the 12th year for the annual event with the goal to sell 1,800 lunches. If you haven’t as yet placed your order there may still be time.
