DES MOINES, IOWA (February 20, 2024) — Ellipsis, a youth services and shelter organization serving nearly 600 central Iowa kids and their families daily, is proud to announce unveil renovations on a Des Moines facility that features twelve efficiency apartments for youth ages sixteen to 21. The announcement comes following an open house on Tuesday, February 20.

ADELPHI, MARYLAND (February 20, 2024) — Jericha Stout of Cordova, Illinois, was named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

PELLA, IOWA (February 20, 2024) — Thirty-two Central College students will participate in internships for the Spring 2024 semester.

Luke Henkhaus of Geneseo (61254) will intern with Central College in Pella, Iowa. Henkhaus is a member of Central's Class of 2024, with a Psychology major.

Emma Johnson of Davenport (52807) will intern with Heartland AEA in Johnston, Iowa. Johnson is a member of Central's Class of 2023, with a Kinesiology major.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2024) — Augustana College’s Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr Michael Zemek, will perform three Illinois concerts during an April tour.

Jenny Lind is a select treble ensemble for students who wish to develop advanced choral skills and better understand various styles of choral music composed for sopranos and altos. The choir performs on campus and at community events.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2024) — Special Olympics Illinois is proud to announce the return of the coolest event of the year, the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics athletes at Lake Storey Pavilion on Sunday, February 25, 2PM.

Our top priority is the safety of all participants. Lake Storey is temporarily closed. We are working closely with the Galesburg Parks and Recreation to provide a safe way for participants to plunge.
