DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 20, 2023) — Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith are helping The Raccoon Motel make tonight's concert with Los Angeles legend Mike Viola super special. The other day, the couple sat down and inked out a t-shirt design to commemorate the debut Raccoon Motel appearance by former Candy Butchers lead singer and the voice of The Wonders from Tom Hanks' classic film That Thing You Do.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 20, 2023) — Eighteen vocational rehabilitation counselors who currently work with job candidates in offices across from the Iowa Capitol complex will be moving their desks next week to the IowaWORKS job center in south Des Moines. The change is part of implementing a broad statewide-alignment plan targeted to increase coordination of government services and make it easier for Iowans to access what they need.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 20, 2023) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate ticked up to 3.0 percent in September, up from 2.9 percent last month but down from 3.1 percent a year ago. Meanwhile, Iowa’s labor force participation rate decreased slightly from 68.7 percent to 68.6 percent in September as college students left the workforce to return to school.
