Madam President, Mr Speaker, Lt Governor, legislative leaders and members, justices and judges, distinguished guests, family, friends, my fellow Iowans:

I’m so honored to be here. I want to start by saying, “Thank you.”

SEWARD, NEBRASKA (January 13, 2023) — Concordia University, Nebraska named 224 students to its honors list for the Fall 2022 semester. Students who earn a 3.90 GPA or higher while also completing at least twelve credit hours qualify for the honors list.

Andrew Pfeiffer of Bettendorf, IA earned a 3.90 GPA or higher while also completing at least twelve credit hours to qualify for the Fall 2022 honors list.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (January 13, 2023) Goodwill of the Heartland will host a Grand Opening Celebration for its Davenport Career and Support Services facilities at NorthPark Mall on Thursday, January 26. The event is open to the public and includes facility tours, a community ribbon cutting and light refreshments.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 13, 2023) Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate presented awards on behalf of the Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking to outstanding community members combating human trafficking across the state on Thursday at the Iowa Capitol Building.

Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month which was also presented at the event.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 13, 2023) — The Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) is excited to announce its partnership with Second Baptist Church Music and Arts Academy to provide group violin lessons for elementary students.

In 2017, the QCSO and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley (BGCMV) launched an initiative to create access to music education for members of the Davenport and Moline Boys and Girls Clubs by providing group cello lessons and bi-weekly instruction.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (January 12, 2023) — High-achieving students were named to the Knox College Dean's List for the 2022 Fall Term. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade-point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
