Gov Kim Reynolds Announces Informational Webinars for Parents on Students First Education Savings Accounts

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 22, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced a schedule of informational webinars to assist parents and guardians who plan to apply for the state’s new Students First Education Savings Accounts (ESAs). The live webinars will be hosted by Odyssey, the program administrator selected by the state.

Local Students Earn Spring 2023 Dean's List at University of Evansville

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (May 22, 2023) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred a record 3,753 degrees during commencement exercises May 19 and 20.

Following is a list of area graduates, listed alphabetically by hometown, with their college(s) and degree(s).

Geneseo: Lauren Anne Plumley, College of Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with distinction.

Nikolas Zarlatanes of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, Begins Internship with Kent State University

PELLA, IOWA (05/22/2023) — Nikolas Zarlatanes, from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, Class of 2024, will begin a summer internship with Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

Mayra Gonzalez of Muscatine, Iowa, Awarded Degree at Wilkes University

WILKES-BARRE, PENNSYLVANIA (May 22, 2023) — Mayra Gonzalez of Muscatine, Iowa, received a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Nursing from Wilkes University. The degree was one of over 650 Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral degrees at its 76th spring commencement ceremonies on May 20 in the McHale Athletic Center in the Simms Center on Main, 169 S Main Street in Wilkes-Barre.

The degrees conferred include 278 Bachelor's, 305 Master's, and 83 doctoral degrees.

"While National Unclaimed Property Day is celebrated for just one day, my efforts to make Iowans aware of their unclaimed funds isn't.
