Fire in the Scott County Jail

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 25, 2022) — On October 20, the Scott County Jail experienced a clothes-dryer fire in the inmate laundry room portion of the jail. At 2:35PM, the jail central control received an emergency alert from an inmate worker that there had been a fire in the dryer and that he had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

Fareway Joins Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate's Efforts to Combat Human Trafficking in Iowa

The Iowa Businesses Against Trafficking (IBAT) initiative is led by Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate. Fareway is a family-owned business based in Boone, Iowa. They are working with Sec Pate’s office to find ways to prevent human trafficking and raise awareness about this form of modern-day slavery.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 21, 2022) — The Scott County Emergency Management Agency, in conjunction with the local Fire Chiefs and the State Fire Marshalls Office, has determined that open burning constitutes a danger to life and property in Scott County, Iowa. Therefore, pursuant to Iowa Code 100.40(1), a Burn Ban is in effect as of 10/21/2022, 09:00AM for all of Scott County, Iowa.
