EAST MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 28, 2022) — The East Moline Community Fund is hosting the first-ever “Taste of East Moline” fundraiser tonight, 5:30-7:30PM, at The Rust Belt.

The sold-out event features eighteen local food vendors offering bite-sized samples of their culinary offerings.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA (April 27, 2022) — April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is working with a northwest Iowa victims’ advocacy organization to inform residents about resources available to them. Secretary Pate joined the Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault (CAASA) Wednesday morning in Sioux City to promote some of those services.

HAMILTON, NEW YORK (April 27, 2022) — McKena Mathews, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2022, has earned the Fall 2021 Dean's Award with Distinction.

Mathews is a Sociology major from Moline, IL (61265), and is a graduate of Moline Senior High School.

Students who receive a term grade-point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the Fall 2021 semester earn the Dean's Award with Distinction.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (April 27, 2021) — The Niabi Zoo is excited to announce the birth of two Fennec Foxes ( Vulpes zerda). Fennec foxes are native to the Sahara and Sinai deserts of North Africa, and are active hunters of small mammals and reptiles. Fennec foxes are the smallest of all fox species and are known for their unusually large ears that serve to both locate prey underground and to dissipate heat from their bodies in the harsh desert environment.
