Lora Lalla of Davenport, Iowa, among Spring 2020 President's List Honorees

TOPEKA, KANSAS (July 1, 2020) — Washburn University is pleased to announce its President's List honorees for the Spring 2020 semester. To qualify for the President's List, a student must complete at least 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade-point average of 4.0.

More than 750 students, including Lora Lalla, of Davenport, qualified for the President's List.

Jill Wright of Illinois City, Illinois, among Washburn University Spring 2020 Dean's List

TOPEKA, KANSAS (June 30, 2020) — Washburn University has announced its Spring 2020 Dean's List honorees. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled in 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade-point average of 3.4 to 3.99.

Jill Wright, of Illinois City, was named as a Dean's List honoree for the spring 2020 semester.

Delta Dental of Iowa Announces Relief Program to Assist Vision Providers

JOHNSTON, IOWA (June 30, 2020) — Delta Dental of Iowa, a leading vision-insurance provider in Iowa, has announced the DeltaVision Provider Relief Program of up to $500,000 to offer financial assistance to network vision providers. Iowa's eye-care providers have been closed or offering minimal services due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Gov Kim Reynolds Signed Legislation into Law to Lower Taxes on Renewable Fuels

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 30, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed Senate File 2403, legislation that will lower the cost of E-15 and higher blends of renewable fuels in Iowa by changing how the state taxes higher-blend biofuels. The governor signed the bill during her weekly press conference at Pine Lake Corn Processors in Steamboat Rock.

Iowa Business Council Sees Slight Uptick in Economic Outlook After Volatile Second Quarter

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 30, 2020) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) released its second-quarter Economic Outlook Survey for 2020. The survey's overall economic-outlook index rose to 41.25, increasing 3.75 points from Q1 of 2020 when IBC members' outlook hit its lowest point since 2009. Measuring below 50, this figure continues to demonstrate negative sentiment.
