MOLINE, ILLINOIS (May 6, 2025) — The Quad City Storm finalized its protected list for the 2025-2026 SPHL season. The protected list is composed of thirteen players that ended the 2024-2025 season on the Quad City Storm roster. These players are ineligible for recruitment or signing by other SPHL teams.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (May 5, 2025) — The Iowa Farm Bureau is seeking to crown its 61st Cookout Contest “Grand Champion” on Tuesday, August 12, at the 2025 Iowa State Fair.

The event, held annually on the Grand Concourse during Farm Bureau Day at the fair, features up to sixty backyard chefs vying for the champion title and cash prizes. Contest categories include pork, beef, turkey, lamb, poultry, and a youth division for ages thirteen to seventeen.
