Free Education Series to Offer Beginning Farmer Resources



DES MOINES– Iowans have an opportunity to learn about beginning farmer programs available to them at a series of upcoming free workshops. The education sessions will include presentations from experts at Farm Service Agency, Iowa Agricultural Development Division and Veterans in Agriculture and will also feature regional agricultural lender panels.

The Iowa Agricultural Development Division's Beginning Farmer Programs will be highlighted, including low-interest loans for the purchase of land, buildings and equipment; Iowa tax credits for landowners who lease to beginning farmers; and Iowa tax credits for farmers to hire a beginning farmer for custom work.

The workshop series is sponsored by the Iowa Agricultural Development Division, Iowa Bankers Association, Farm Service Agency, FFA Alumni and Veterans in Agriculture.
