This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, a week in which our nation’s educators are recognized for the important work they do each day. As a proud former educator, I personally want to thank all of Iowa’s teachers for the pivotal role they play in shaping and inspiring the minds of our nation’s youth.

In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week, I am pleased to join my colleague Congressman Sam Graves in introducing a bipartisan resolution to recognize the role and contributions of America’s teachers in building and enhancing our nation’s cultural, civic, and economic well-being. I know that educators have the ability to change lives and too often their work goes unnoticed. This is why I introduced this resolution – to give our teachers the recognition and support they deserve.

Today, I urge you to thank a teacher for his or her commitment to Iowa’s students.

Sincerely,

Dave Loebsack
