Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack today announced that St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa has been selected as one of four grantees to receive funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Specially Adapted Housing Assistive Technology (SAHAT) Grant program. The SAHAT program seeks to develop new technologies to enhance the ability of veterans and servicemembers to live independently in specially adapted homes. St. Ambrose will receive an $185,234 grant to develop a virtual demonstration and training site for home independence.

“I strongly believe that we need to care for our veterans with the same dignity and honor with which they have served our country. That is why I am very pleased that St. Ambrose was selected to receive this competitive grant to help assist our veterans and servicemembers who were injured overseas and are now returning home and want to live independently. I look forward to seeing the great work that St. Ambrose will produce with this funding,” said Congressman Dave Loebsack.

“We are excited to receive this grant from the Veterans Affairs to enhance Veterans’ access to assistive technology. St. Ambrose is proud to take the lead on an important technological initiative for Veterans across the country,” said Paul J. Foley, St. Ambrose University Director of Government and Community Relations.
